A few hours ago, I saw a video by Brodie Robertson where be mentioned CVE-2026-31431, where anyone that has shell access can exploit algif_aead to become root. I am pleased to say that the issue has now been patched for Debian Trixie users!
Make sure to update as soon as possible. I don’t use Ubuntu or any Red Hat based systems so I cannot provide information about those. And thankfully, any computers I have that run Debian 12 or older all barely get used anymore.
